Proposition 37, a California initiative that if passed would have required the labeling of food sold to consumers made from plants or animals with genetic material changed in specified ways, was defeated. This is not stopping the supporters of this labeling initiative that has it’s next chance to start the trend of labeling GMOs, Label It Wa has initiated 522 that will require the labeling of genetically engineered foods. And to add to the band wagon look who’s joining the GMO Right-to-Know movement!

Yes, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is siding with their customers once again (remember back when they faught to get rid of rBGH?) and plan to have all their ingredients GMO free by the end of 2013.
